Pakistan Army fully equipped to tackle any challenge, General Kayani

ISLAMABAD - Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani
Wednesday expressed his sheer satisfaction over the ongoing security
forces operation in Swat and other parts of the country to flush out
militants, saying that the operation was moving in the right
direction.
The Army Chief expressed these views while presiding over a high-level
meeting at the General Headquarters (GHQ). He reviewed the progress of
the ongoing operations and appreciated the high morale of the troops.
He also stressed upon the need of providing relief to the IDPs through
an aggressive management system.

General Kayani said that Pakistan Army was fully equipped to tackle
any challenge, adding that it was working day and night to provide
relief to affectees of Malakand division. He directed the Army to take
every measure to wipe out the menace of terrorism.

The COAS arrived Wednesday from France after a brief stopover at
Brussels where he met Jaap de Hoop, the Secretary General, NATO. He
visited Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers in Europe (SHAPE)
and NATO.

The COAS also called on General Bantz J Cardock, Supreme Allied
Commander Europe (SACEUR) and Admiral Giampaolo Dl Paola, Chairman
Military Committee. He also addressed a special meeting of Chairman
Military Committee for NATO.
