Pakistan and India talks started

It is with a weary sense of Deja vu that we must greet this umpteenth attempt at getting across the table with Pakistan.

Perhaps even Deja vu quite doesnt describe this weariness in greeting what has become a recurring theme in India’s non-Strategy towards its Pakistan problem.
One is reminded of a television panel discussion from sometime in the late 1990s that had C. Rajamohan and Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi debating India’s strategy towards Pakistan. There was Dr. Joshi playing the Swadeshi Hawk cautioning us to talk but with a “danda” in one hand. And then there was C. Rajamohan at his optimistic usual self describing Pakistan as a “monkey on your back” while calling for India to be the big brother.
